The challenge for Australian schools

Mental health challenges among young Australians are more prevalent than ever. Half of all adult mental health difficulties emerge before age 14, and by Year 9, students experiencing mental health concerns can be up to two years behind their peers academically. Yet more than 45% of young people diagnosed with mental health conditions never receive the help they need.

Schools tell us they can’t afford to let students slip through the cracks when it comes to mental health and wellbeing. Everyday they see how mental health challenges directly affect attendance and academic performance. They know that early, proactive support can prevent small concerns from becoming significant barriers to learning.

How we are making a difference

My Mind Check lives in all eight states and territories

We have partnered with over 200 government, Catholic, and independent schools across the country, 40% located in regional/remote areas.

No two schools are the same, so we tailor each implementation of the check-in tool in a manner that fits their unique needs and existing strategies. Partner schools tell us this intentional approach has transformed the way they handle mental health and wellbeing.

My Mind Check has become a trusted resource for schools seeking practical, evidence-based ways to support student mental health.

What schools are saying

89% of partner educators would recommend My Mind Check to other schools

We are hearing that My Mind Check is effective as both a standalone tool and as a compliment to existing programs.

While 91% of partner educators report the platform is easy to use, we continually work with schools to enhance our products and services. Through school visits, interviews, and research our ongoing product development delivers features that make check-ins make sense in schools.
